Make a Morphing picture using Phantamorph

To make a morphing picture of any subject you want such as the Beatles one i did here

This was created using a program called Abrosoft Phantamorph which is quite easy to use.

You will start by selecting the images you wish to morph and placing them in a folder for ease of access.  Name the folder something you will recognise for later use.

When you start the program you will be prompted with the "Welcome to the Project Wizard"

This gives you the option of opening an existing project or starting a new project.

We will select "Create a new project" then click "Next"

Then, depending on which version you have, you will be prompted to choose a project type.  The version i have is the professional version so i have the options "Morph" "Warp" and "Multiple Morph"

For this excercise we will select the "Morph" option and click next.  This option will allow you to morph 2 images only into each other.

The next window prompts you to navigate to the images you have placed in the folder you made earlier.  Navigate to each image alternatively and click "Next"

The next window asks you if you want to crop the images down or adjust the visual aspects of the image.  We will assume the images are correct and ready to morph.

Click next

The next window is the size of the image and movie length,  We will leave this at the default settings that the program has selected and click next

The next window gives you six options to fluff up the effects of your project and can be added later in the project so for now we will just click next and then finish.

You will notice that the program has 3 small windows, two at the top indicating the images you selected and one on the bottom in the center (this is your preview window).

In the center of the two windows at the top are six icons consisting of a plus sign, a minus sign, an arrow, a hand, a plus magnify icon and a minus magnify icon.

Lets assume you have two pictures of human faces, one on the right and one on the left.

We will start with the one on the left, this will be the application image and the one on the right will be the adjustment image.

Click the plus sign icon located in the top section of icons and put a dot in the center of the pupil on the left image by left clicking the mouse

This will make a dot appear on the right hand side image but  more than likely, not in the same place geographicaly as the left image.

On the image to the right, click and hold on the green dot that appeared and move the dot to the center of the pupil of the image on the right.

Then go back to the left hand image and repeat with the other eye, when the dot appears on the right hand image, grab it with the mouse and move it to its coresponding position on the face.

Do this with the eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, ears, in fact the more dots you apply the better the effect will be

This can be a little time consuming but the rewards are great when you see the morph

Exporting your finished project

The program allows you to export in many formats and to do this is as follows;

Click file and select "Export Movie"

A window opens called "Movie Export"

From the drop down box select the format that you want to export and click "Export"

You will then be prompted where to save the exported movie. Select the folder that you made earlier to keep consistancy within your projects.

Once you have clicked "Save" the program will display a status bar to indicate the progress of the export

Once finished the program will open a view of the export for you in the appropriate program.
